This page provides the information required under Japan's Specified Commercial Transactions Act (特定商取引法) and the Installment Sales Act for businesses using Stripe to process payments. It covers the Ulearn website at ulearnai.org and the Ulearn Chrome extension.

Initial payment: Collected in full on Stripe's hosted checkout page at the moment you start the subscription.
Recurring renewals: Automatically charged at the start of each billing cycle (every month for monthly plans, every 12 months for yearly plans), on the calendar day that matches your original signup date. If a renewal fails, Stripe retries up to four times over the following week; if all retries fail the subscription enters a past-due state and access to paid features is paused until billing is restored. |
| Delivery timing (引渡時期) | Subscription access is provisioned electronically and unlocked on the purchaser's Ulearn account immediately after Stripe confirms a successful payment (typically within seconds). No physical shipment. |

Defective service / failed transactions: If you are charged but your subscription is not provisioned, or if the service malfunctions and prevents you from using a paid feature you were charged for, contact academysiegel@gmail.com. We will either fix the provisioning or issue a refund through Stripe to the original payment method.
Customer-initiated cancellation: You can cancel at any time from the Stripe-hosted billing portal (reachable from Settings → Billing inside the app). Cancellation stops future renewals immediately. Existing access continues through the end of the period you've already paid for — there is no proration for the unused portion of a billing cycle. 14-day refund window: If you cancel within 14 days of your first purchase or first renewal of a yearly plan, AND you have not generated significant AI content during that window (Ulearn determines "significant" as <25 AI generations consumed), email academysiegel@gmail.com from the registered account email and we will issue a full refund through Stripe. Refunds beyond that window are not standard but are evaluated case-by-case for clear good-faith situations (long absence, accidental renewal, etc.). Chargebacks & disputes: If you dispute a charge with your bank, Stripe handles the dispute process under its standard dispute terms. We may pause the affected subscription while the dispute is open. Account deletion: Deleting your Ulearn account does not automatically refund any remaining paid period or cancel a Stripe subscription. Cancel the subscription FIRST (via Settings → Billing), then request a refund by email if applicable, then delete the account. |
